Are you still considered a digital native if you grew up without the internet? Despite spending my formative years in rural Texas with no internet, I have fully embraced the digital era. From coding websites to formulating digital marketing strategies to interpreting analytics, I’ve jumped in the matrix with both feet and learned to swim.

Back in 2012, a coworker referred to me as a monarch when I absolutely ruled a tedious project, and the moniker has stuck. I have fully leaned into the concept and adopted it as part of my personal brand. It has driven me to be the best leader I can, and it still makes me laugh when colleagues curtsey or bow to me during meetings.

In my full-time position at ASU, I lend my social media expertise to the W. P. Carey School of Business and work closely with the Marketing & Communications office. I’m always looking for ways to help people understand marketing in the age of information.
