Parking & Transit

At Phoenix Convention Center:

Paid parking will be available onsite at the Phoenix Convention Center in the West Garage for $12/day (beneath the building with our event), limited adjacent street parking is available and there are a number of nearby garages and lots.

The West Garage Entrance is located at 185 N 2nd Street. Please note that Monroe Street will be shut down between 2nd and 3rd streets for our lunch.

We also recommend taking advantage of free Park-and-Ride locations throughout Greater Phoenix along the METRO Light Rail. The closest stations are a few minutes walk from the West Building. The nearest Westbound station (trains from Tempe/Mesa) is 3rd St/Washington and the nearest Eastbound station (trains from North Phoenix) is 3rd St/Jefferson.

At Galvanize Phoenix (Saturday evening + Sunday afternoon)

Free parking will be available at Galvanize for the Afterparty and Contributor Day. There are a few hundred spots available, as well as limited, free street parking and across the street is a large lot that charges $5.35/day.

Announcing Our Afterparty at Galvanize Phoenix, Friday & Saturday Lunch Menus

The Afterparty – Homecoming

We’re delighted to announce our Saturday evening afterparty will be at Galvanize Phoenix at 7:00 PM, following two exciting days of sessions and workshops at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Galvanize Phoenix was the host venue for WordCamp Phoenix 2017 and 2018, as well as our venue for Sunday’s Contributor Day. We’re thrilled to be back for our 10th year reunion homecoming party at Galvanize!

Just a few blocks from Phoenix’s Downtown core and the Convention Center, Galvanize Phoenix is the anchor business in the historic Lawrence Building, a former food distribution warehouse now home to a restaurant, coworking space, startup accelerator and code school.

We’ll have great appetizers, adult beverages and plenty of games, dancing and space to hang out! We’ll be serving up:

  • Grilled Cheese Shooters (Vegetarian, GF)
  • Korean Fried Chicken Sliders
  • Empanadas
  • Avocado Toast
  • Hummus & Pita Chips
  • Tater Tots & Toppings Bar
  • Tortilla Chips, Guacamole and Salsa

A big thank you to our Life of the Afterparty sponsor NorthStack by Pagely for helping us put on a great Afterparty below their office in Galvanize.

Lunch

We’re shutting down Monroe Street between 2nd and 3rd streets for a catered, outdoor picnic with tables and chairs! Phoenix is typically pleasant in the mid-60s and 70s in February, but please keep in mind lunch will be outdoors.

A big thank you to our Lunch Lady sponsor GoDaddy for helping us provide such a great menu from a local caterer.

Friday’s Lunch

Our first day’s lunch will be scratch-made Fry Bread with an Elote Street Corn Salad.

Base toppings include:

  • Meat: Beef Machaca
  • Vegetarian: Pinto Beans or Cheddar Cheese
  • Vegan: Mushroom Machaca

Plus a toppings bar with:

  • Pico De Gallo
  • Roasted Tomato Salsa
  • Green Tomatillo Salsa
  • Shredded Lettuce

Saturday’s Lunch

Our second day’s lunch will be Fried Rice and Stir-Fried Vegetables, with one of the following:

  • Meat: Korean BBQ Chicken
  • Vegan: Ginger Scallion Tofu
  • Soy-Free: Miso-Glazed Japanese Eggplant

As well as a Bun-Cha Salad with Bean Curd Noodles, Carrots, Snow Peas, Cucumber Cilantro, Bean Sprouts, Red Bell Peppers and Edamame with a Vietnamese Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette.

Sunday – No Lunch

We won’t be serving lunch before the Contributor Day at Galvanize Phoenix (12:00 pm – 4:00 pm), so if you’re planning to attend please fuel-up beforehand and check out our Local Guide for suggestions!

Note on Allergens & Options

Our caterer Conceptually Social will be serving both lunches and our afterparty dinner appetizers.

They’ll be taking care to avoid cross-contamination and offer vegan, vegetarian and allergy-free options for food allergies to soy, gluten, dairy, strawberries and mushrooms.
