Meet Our Partner Airlines: GoDaddy Pro

WordCamp Phoenix is an event that combines the resources of many partner airlines to lift a community. We're able to offer a high-quality, affordable, educational and fun event thanks to their generosity. Before we take off, our crew would like to take a moment to tell you about the new destinations you can reach with GoDaddy Pro.

GoDaddy Pro is the first-class service for website creators and their customers alike. With powerful management tools and the ability to purchase and renew services on your client's behalf, GoDaddy Pro tools take the hassle out of web travel.

All the powerful features you'd expect in a modern hosting solution like cloning sites, backups, performance and uptime monitoring, as well a toolset for managing client billing and digital services you didn't know you were missing. Rebalance your time from billing to building. Beyond unique and powerful tools, GoDaddy offers resources, events and bulk discounts to give web pro's a leg up in reaching their audiences and customers.

We're proud GoDaddy is one of our hometown airlines using Phoenix as their hub for serving destinations all over the globe (some of which comes from their airplane hanger-sized data-center in the Warehouse District). GoDaddy has helped people reach their audiences and customers online for decades. They're a longtime supporter of our event, greater WordPress community and we're grateful for their support this year!

Announcing Our 2018 Keynote: Going Tribal – How Our Appetite for Connection Can Make or Break Our Best-Laid Plans

Shawn Pfunder

On Saturday February 17, we're thrilled to have Shawn Pfunder, Senior Communications Director at GoDaddy, deliver the WordCamp Phoenix 2018 keynote address.

A seasoned storyteller and marketing professional, Shawn is Editor-in-Chief at GoDaddy and works with small businesses to amplify their reach and potential using compelling visual and written narratives.

Presenting Going Tribal – How Our Appetite for Connection Can Make or Break Our Best-Laid Plans, Shawn will help us understand our tribes better to be more inclusive, diverse and change the world.

"Tribes are rad. They fortify us. They provide us safe places to play. They give us a space to be ourselves. Tribes help us target who we want to connect with and who we want to do business with. These days, the internet has only made it easier for weirdos like us to connect."

Shawn Pfunder

We're excited to welcome Shawn back to the WordCamp Phoenix stage! Be sure to get your tickets — this is going to be a camp you won't want to miss.

Happy New Year!

See you in the new year

We know our greater community has interest and is growing. We look forward to reviewing speaker and volunteer applications — we can’t wait to see familiar and fresh faces in February!

Why the larger camp?

This roughly 40-50 percent more capacity than we’ve had in previous years! The demand is there — every year we sell out weeks ahead with gentle marketing and turn away dozens. We received 70 speaker submissions for 16 session slots in 2017 and have a large Meetup group with 2,200+ members. Plus according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Phoenix is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States — On average over 220 people moved to Maricopa County per day in 2016, more than any other county in the United States.

Downtown Phoenix is emerging as a technology hub. And it’s not only PhoenixIt’s Tempe, It’s East Mesa — it’s the whole ValleyArizona’s tech sector is growing, with recent reports indicating thousands of open jobs at Phoenix-area technology companies
